I'm Pro-Choice

Pro school of choice, that is.

Read this article: Stupid In America, by ABC's John Stossel.

Subtitled "How Lack of Choice Cheats Our Kids Out of a Good Education," it basically just rehashes what we over on the right have been saying for years, but is worth reading.

I have only one problem with the article. There is one example where American test scores are compared to those from Europe. What the article failed to mention however, is that while European test scores are higher, that is mainly because they only test the top half of their population. The European model of schooling separates children after middle school based on the scores of a standardized test, to attend either a college prep school or a trade school. Since the tests are administered to the top half of Europeans who are univeristy-bound students, it's simply common sense that they would score higher than an average American.
