ACLU is fighting against the right of a group of private citizens to use private land to build a memorial to remeber Katrina victims because it includes a cross and is near public land.

They also claim that government officials- even when acting in a capacity outside of their office- are not allowed to excerise their religious rights or government will be sufficiently "entangled" as to constitute a violation of the Most Sacred and Constitutional Seperation of Church and State™.

Stop the ACLU:

The kicker is the last quote. I don’t even think I need to describe how absolutely LUNATIC Cook’s statment is:

"Cook said his group would prefer to resolve the matter without litigation. A decision will not be made until the ACLU has all the facts. "

Vintage ACLU — threaten a small, hurricane-crippled community (without all the facts) with the full force of a national organization endowed with limitless resources…then say you’d rather this not be litigated. Yeah, you’d rather the community be intimidated into submission. This folks, is the the ACLU perfectly encapsulated.

As a corollary, then, a ruling in the ACLU's favor would present the grounds to prohibit all practicing Christians from holding public office.

"And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake." Luke 21:17

"And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held: And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth? And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled." Revelation 6:9-11

"And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received [his] mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years." Revelation 20:4
