Study: Raunchy Lyrics Prompt Teens To Have Sex

I do agree that the music you listen to affects you, but though sex-laden lyrics are obviously going to influence teens toward that direction (persuasion by mass bombardment), the study may be overstated in that the students who listen to such music are more likely to have low moral standards in the first place, and probably poor parents as well.

The real danger in the flood of such music and the immorality of popular culture is that it erodes the moral levees of the teens who don't have a strong foundation for their values.


Ultimately, I think it's best to follow Paul's advice in Philipians 4:8-
"Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things."
