Outrage: Judge orders FEMA to continue housing payments

Read Article

"It is unfortunate, if not incredible, that FEMA and its counsel could not devise a sufficient notice system to spare these beleaguered evacuees the added burden of federal litigation to vindicate their constitutional rights," [Judge] Leon wrote.

A CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT to free housing? Where would that be? Certainly not in the Tenth Amendment!

It is totally outrageous that FEMA has to continue paying for housing for hurricane Katrina victimes when they are perfectly able to go out and get jobs to pay for their own housing. It is just like disability, if you are able to work you HAVE to go get a job. Why does this not apply to these people?? Dont say it is racial profiling, or discriminatin, when the majority of New Orleans, and Lousiania is largly black populated.

If this were white people and FEMA was still financing their housing, the court's would ask them to stop. How is America a land of equal oppourtunity when whites and blacks are treated differently???
